FPS Indian Member LCL Logistix Scoops Mala Award

CL Logistix – the Indian member of the FPS network of independent forwarders – has scooped the title of “Freight Forwarder of the Year” at the fourth All India Maritime & Logistics (MALA) Awards, 2013.

LCL Logistix received its award in front of a large audience of senior industry executives, at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai.

The prestigious awards – now in their fourth year - recognise outstanding companies and individuals in the maritime freight and logistics sector throughout the whole of India.

Competition for the forwarding award was particularly strong, with a large number of entries submitted for judging by the panel of industry leaders. After a rigorous elimination process, five finalists were nominated before LCL was chosen as the overall winner. The company was also the finalist in the category of “LCL Consolidator of the Year” after clearing the preliminary rounds of shortlisting.

Says Group Chairman Unni Nair: “The MALA awards have quickly become a must-attend event for key industry figures, and have emerged as a highly-authoritative recognition of quality service, best practice and innovation by companies and individuals throughout the maritime freight and logistics sector.

“With the jury comprising some of the leading lights of the industry, it can truly be said that this is an award of the sector, by the sector and for the sector. We are deeply honoured to have received this recognition for our ongoing efforts to achieve continuous improvement.”

LCL Logistix is one of Asia s fastest-growing integrated supply chain solution providers, with wholly-owned subsidiaries in Canada, USA, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. It operates a network of +31 owned offices in India, and 10 overseas.

Launched in 1999 as a simple freight forwarder, the company has since become involved in every element of the logistics value chain - investing heavily in assets such as its three container freight stations (CFS), trucks, handling equipment and warehouses.

LCL Logistix now offers the complete spectrum of logistics services including multimodal freight forwarding, Customs Clearance, ocean groupage, container build up and breakdown, supply chain management, buyers’ consolidation, sector-specialized solutions and road and rail transportation.
